My name is Maddy McDonald, I am a makeup artist, creative, and lover of all art forms. I was raised in Westchester, New York, and am now based in Westchester, and New York City. I am bubbly, passionate, and always ready to take on new projects. From a young age I was always inspired by my Mom. As a Fashion Institute of Technology graduate, she introduced me to many art forms, and she sparked my love for the fashion and beauty world. She was always pushing me to experiment with my personal style, and that was how I began playing in makeup. Doing makeup for fun on myself, friends, and family, brought me to studying professional makeup artistry at Makeup Designory in NYC. Makeup Designory taught me how to be a well rounded artist, and gave me the resources to play in every avenue of makeup design. Makeup Designory left me with a passion for beauty, and SFX makeup, and I try to work in both as much as I can. I continue to be inspired by the people who sit in my chair. Whether they are a model, a mom, an actor, or musician, they all inspire me to find new ways to create with makeup.
Several years of retail experience with various cosmetic retailers.

Freelance work includes (but is not limited to) weddings/special events, photoshoots, fashion shows, practical SFX makeup, and prosthetic applications.
What tools I use, and how I use them is incredibly important to me. While sanitation is my utmost priority to ensure the safety of all my clients, there are a few other important components to my makeup kit, and my work style. I feel that there are steps we can all take in our day to day lives to contribute to making the world a better place. So, in my work I try to stock my kit with products from small businesses, black owned businesses, artist owned businesses, and clean beauty brands. I feel that the beauty community encompasses much more than just makeup, and in my work I strive to support topics in our industry that I feel are important. Such as, diversifying our industry, supporting small businesses, and being eco conscious. I try to minimize my carbon footprint in my work as much as possible. Trying to use as many re- usable tools in my kit as possible, keeping my single- use products to a minimum, and recycling whatever I can. I hope that throughout my career I can continue to find work that contributes to the betterment of our beloved beauty world. Better beauty is being built everyday.
